What is Crossfit?

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning programme designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. CrossFit is designed to optimise physical competence in each of the ten general physical skills. They are Cardiovascular & Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.
The CrossFit Programme is distinctive, if not unique, in its focus on maximising neuroendocrine response, developing power, cross-training with multiple training modalities, constant training and practice with functional movements, and the development of successful diet strategies.

What is your CrossFit level?

Within a CrossFit class we offer a beginners, intermediate and advanced movement option. This method prevents injury and promotes an individual progression. Therefore CrossFit is for everyone. The best way to find out is to give it a go. Book a trial session now!

What is involved?

CrossFit programs are completely scalable and easily modified to suit ANY person wanting to improve their fitness level. Weight, reps, times, etc… can all be reduced or increased, or an alternative exercise or activity can be used.

You won’t get bored from repartition and most importantly the WOD varies considerably from day to day; each workout taxing your body differently, allowing you to push your limits while recovering from previous workouts.

Movements that are natural to the body and mimic real life day to day jobs like lifting and moving boxes.

Force x Distance over Time. Every workout can be measured and logged. You are continually aiming to beat your previous best and this acts as an excellent motivational tool.

The steps to become an RxBox – CrossFit Didsbury member

  1. JOIN NOW! Select the CrossFit membership
  2. Complete our ONRAMP class. This class is a one-hour session. The class covers the 9 fundamental movements. The onramp is a skill and technique session. We have a duty as coaches to ensure all CF members training at RxBox – CrossFit Didsbury know how to execute movements correctly and safely, and we accomplish this in the ONRAMP. Once you have completed the ONRAMP class you can then join in with the main group.
